Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Greater Houston Psychiatric Associates also offers a Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The IOP is Virtual Support for Teens Struggling with Anxiety, Depression, and More

Our Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers flexible, virtual therapy sessions designed to support teens in managing mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, and more. This program is structured to provide a safe, supportive environment where adolescents can work through emotional struggles, build coping skills, and gain valuable tools for navigating life’s challenges.

Program Schedule:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Saturdays: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
All sessions are conducted virtually, offering the flexibility to attend from the comfort and safety of your home.

Therapeutic Approach:
Our program combines evidence-based therapeutic modalities to empower teens in their journey toward mental wellness. We incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Psychoeducation to provide a comprehensive approach that addresses both the emotional and practical aspects of managing mental health.
CBT helps teens identify and challenge negative thought patterns, replacing them with healthier ways of thinking.
DBT focuses on emotional regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness, teaching adolescents how to navigate relationships and cope with intense emotions.
Psychoeducation provides essential knowledge on mental health, building awareness and understanding of the factors that contribute to mental well-being.

Our Goal:
We are committed to helping adolescents develop a toolbox of coping skills they can use in everyday life to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. By working closely with our experienced clinicians, teens will gain confidence in their ability to handle life's ups and downs, fostering resilience and independence.

How It Works:
Our program offers structured group sessions where participants can connect with peers facing similar challenges. Along with guidance from our trained therapists, teens will learn vital coping strategies, practice mindfulness, and develop the skills necessary for emotional regulation.
