Biography

Brent received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from Baylor University and subsequently completed a Masters degree in Social Work at the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work. He also completed post-graduate courses in theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. He is a Licensed Master Social Worker and is also certified as a supervisor and supervisor trainer in Texas. Additionally he teaches courses in psychotherapy at the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work.

Over the many years of Brent’s clinical career, he has developed expertise working with many populations, issues, and treatment approaches. His specialty is treating children and adolescents, but he also counsels adults with an emphasis on grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and men’s issues. Brent utilizes play therapy, family therapy and parenting, crisis intervention, EMDR, Grief Recovery, Trauma, Unified Protocol, and several brief psychotherapies.
